Pant Memorial Hall is in the care of a registered charity, Pant Memorial Institute. Our charity registration number is 240435 and you can see our charity commission entry and information on this link. All management, bookings, organising and planning (and quite a lot of fixing and work) is done by the charity trustees who are all unpaid volunteers. We always welcome new trustees (and non-trustee volunteers) – information on how to join in is on this page.
We want to keep maintaining and improving the hall, so that we can continue to provide an affordable and local venue. Generations of trustees have been doing just that since 1922, so let’s continue.
Here are ways to support your local venue. You can use it for your event (what it is there for!), buy a postcard, shop and donate at no extra cost, sell something on ebay or even leave a legacy to the hall charity.
Most of all we want the hall to be used. We really appreciate all other fundraisers, which allow us to improve the building and keep the fees as low as possible. A reminder that ALL the management and organisation is done by unpaid volunteers. If you’d like to donate your time by joining us – here’s how!
Use the hall!
The best way to support the hall is to book it for your event, class, meeting, party etc – that’s what it is there for! We’ve lots of information on this site telling you about facilities and possibilities. Here are links to some specific types of event.
Buy a souvenir postcard
Putting Pant on the map -revive the lost art of writing to people by sending a postcard from Pant! The cards show the amazing ceramic mural which was placed on the building to mark the 2018 armistice centenary. Link to buy our cards is here.
Donate to us at no cost to you
- Giveasyoulive; shop as normal and generate funding for us by following this link. Just click ‘shop and raise’ for access to thousands of retailers. Also includes a comparison engine for switching utilities, insurance and more. We’ve raised nearly £300 with just a few supporters; think what could be done if more people sign up! There is no extra cost to you for doing this.
- Inkjet cartridge recycling: we can recycle used inkjet cartridges to raise funds (sorry, no laser toner cartridges). If you are in the hall, the sign in the entrance hall tells you where to find the recycling box. Otherwise you can pop them in our postbox, or contact us if you have too many for that – we’ll make arrangements. Not only do we raise money, but this also keeps cartridges out of landfill. We are a public collection point too.
Sell something in aid of the hall
Having a clearout? The hall charity is registered with ebay for charity. You can donate some or all of your sales proceeds to the hall, and your final value fee will be reduced accordingly. Donate 100% and pay no final value fee (that’s what we do when selling donated items).
We’re happy to help if needed, especially if the item is ‘cash on collection’ – we’ll give you a receipt for the buyer. Please contact the hall secretary if you need assistance with this.
Leave a legacy
We all know that we can’t take it with us…if you’d like to continue to support your community after you have gone, a legacy to a local charity is a good way to do it. Here is our information about leaving a gift to the hall in your will.
